Come to Stratford early and stay late! Construction delays may be significant in summer 2019 so be sure not to miss out on any fun!

Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

Don’t miss the fun due to construction delays!

Things to See & Do

The cultural lure of Stratford—come and indulge!

We say it without hesitation: Stratford is Canada’s premier town for the arts. From the finest Shakespeare company in North America to one of the largest costume warehouses in the world, we have it all, and we want to share it with you. We love art in all its forms, and we see that it’s available everywhere—from our theatre scene to fine-arts galleries to hand-crafted quilts and other beautiful objets for life and the home. And have we mentioned that’s we’re mad about music? We offer a host of concerts, recitals, and festivals all year-‘round.

We simply couldn’t live without art, everywhere, all the time. Surely you can’t, either? Come to visit. We’ll feed your soul.

Theatre—from Shakespeare to original Canadian plays, Stratford is in the heart of theatre country!

Galleries—theatre crafts, visual arts, and hand-crafted works—we have it all.

Music and stories—come and fill your ears and heart.

“Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.”
